Mumbai, May 7 (Reporter) Three people, including an autorickshaw driver and two passengers, were killed after a large tree fell on their vehicle during strong winds and a thunderstorm in Kalyan town of neighbouring Thane district, officials said here on Wednesday. According to details, the incident occurred on Tuesday night during heavy winds and a thunderstorm. The deceased have been identified as Umashankar Verma (52), an autorickshaw driver from Tisgaon in Kalyan East; Tukaram Shamrao Khengale (45) and Lata Dattaram Raut (47), both residents of the Chinchpada area in Kalyan. The incident occurred at around 9:15 PM in the Chinchpada area of Kalyan East. Verma had picked up the two passengers for a ride from Kalyan to Chinchpada. As they reached their destination, a large tree suddenly fell on the moving autorickshaw, crushing it and fatally injuring all three occupants.
