Maha: Opposition stages walkout of Assembly

Nagpur, Dec 17 (Reporter) All the members of the Opposition on Tuesday staged a walkout of the Maharashtra Assembly protesting against the Speaker's refusal to hold discussion on the Beed murder case. On first day of the winter session of the state legislature on Monday, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had promised in the Legislative Council that a discussion will be held in the House on the Beed and Parbhani incidents and also justice will be given to the kins of the victims in both the incidents. Accordingly, the members of opposition bench demanded a discussion on the two incidents in the lower house, but Speaker Rahul Narvekar clarified that the issue will be taken up on Wednesday (tomorrow) under rule number 101. Unhappy with his reply, the opposition members protested and demanded to hold discussion on the issue today itself. However, the Mahayuti government refused to hold a discussion today. Angry over this, Congress member and state party president Nana Patole informed the Speaker that the entire opposition has decided to walk out from the house in protest...////...
