Mumbai, May 28 (Reporter) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday inspected the IT security system installed in the ‘smart buses’ operated by ST Corporation between Thane and Nagpur in Thane.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the safety of common passengers travelling in State Transport Corporation buses is topmost priority of the government.
For this, these new buses will be safer for travel as an AI technology-based integrated security systems will be installed in smart buses, he informed.
Along with CCTV cameras that monitor the movement of passengers sitting in the bus, the driver’s driving style, WiFi, LED screens, GPS system and foam-based fire prevention systems will also be installed in these buses, he said.
This 'smart bus' of the Transport Corporation has been equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) and driver observation cameras, he informed.
This device will enable women to travel safely, and it will be easier for the drivers to drive.
Also, in case if the driver consumes alcohol or is falling asleep, the passengers will be able to travel safely as the siren installed in these buses will immediately alert them, the DyCM said.
Additionally, blind spot cameras have been installed to provide a 360 degrees information to the driver of these buses, he said.
Also, driver assistance screen, mobile GPS tracking system, LCD screen and public announcement system have been implemented in these buses, he added.
These systems have been installed due to continuous efforts of Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik, he informed.
Shinde praised Sarnaik for having taken the initiative to make radical changes in ST buses by considering future needs...////...
