Mumbai, May 26 (Reporter) Beside a multi-agency probe, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Maharashtra Police will also investigate a Nagpur woman, Sunita Bhaleshwar Jamgade, who was handed over to the Indian authorities by Pakistani officials on Sunday after she had crossed over to Pakistan through the Line of Control earlier this month from the Hunderman village in Kargil, sources said on Monday. Jamgade, 43, was reported missing on May 14. According to the police, she crossed the border over ten days ago, leaving her son behind and was subsequently apprehended by the Pakistani forces and later on May 24, she was handed over to Indian authorities. Sources in the special police unit tasked with countering terrorism and organized crime in the state said that as the disappeared woman is from Nagpur in Maharashtra, officers of the ATS will also join multi-agency probe. Meanwhile, deputy commissioner of police (Zone V of Nagpur police) Niketan Kadam confirmed that a police team had been dispatched to Amritsar to escort her back to Nagpur. He stated that a detailed interrogation would follow after her return to assess her mental condition and to explore any potential legal implications, including whether any aspect of her actions could be linked to espionage...////...
