Madhya Pradesh is celebrating the 70th Foundation Day of its formation. My heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all citizens of the state on this momentous occasion. It is a moment of pride, joy, and celebration—a time to look back at the state’s remarkable achievements and honor all the great personalities who contributed to the building of Madhya Pradesh.
Today, we can say with firm confidence that Madhya Pradesh has undergone a complete transformation and is poised to scale even greater heights. The state is moving steadily toward contributing to the vision of a developed India by 2047. During this ‘Amrit Kaal’ of India’s progress, Madhya Pradesh has also set its ambitious goals. The foremost among them is to become a $2 trillion economy by 2047, by which time the state will have achieved the status of a fully developed region.
Economically, Madhya Pradesh stands at a pivotal turning point, poised to play a significant role in realizing India's dream of development. Backed by youthful energy and abundant natural wealth, the state is poised to drive rapid economic growth. Madhya Pradesh’s fertile land, rich water resources, and availability of power form a strong foundation for growth. The state leads in food grain and pulse production, has built modern irrigation systems, and ensures an ample power supply.
The improvement in rural infrastructure and substantial industrial investment have made Madhya Pradesh an attractive destination for business. With an industrial land bank of over 1.2 lakh acres, the state is currently developing more than 112 industrial areas and has identified 14 greenfield sites. Proactive and investor-friendly policies have made it much easier to do business in the state.
Madhya Pradesh is also renowned for its wealth of natural resources and cultural heritage. Its fertile soil, abundant forests, and vast water bodies are complemented by a rich cultural legacy. The state has set a target to double its Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) by 2029. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the state envisions a society where even the poorest citizen prospers.
To achieve the vision of a fully developed Madhya Pradesh, significant strides must be made in economic growth, physical infrastructure, and social infrastructure. With this in mind, four major missions have been launched this year, each designed to empower the poor, youth, farmers, and women. These missions will serve as the cornerstones of the Madhya Pradesh Vision 2047. The state is also restructuring its economy to focus more on industry and services.
