Madhya Pradesh is emerging as a role model in the field of renewable energy. Several unprecedented projects established in the state are supplying solar power not only locally but also to the Delhi Metro and Indian Railways. The world’s largest floating solar project has been installed on the Narmada River at Omkareshwar.

An innovative solar project is also being developed in Morena, which will store energy and supply green power to the state during peak hours in the morning and evening. The energy storage capacity of this project will be 600 MW.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has set a target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. Madhya Pradesh is fully committed to supporting this target and continuously innovating in the renewable energy sector to achieve it. The bidding process for the pioneering project in Morena is now in its final stage. Advisory services from the IFC have guided the project, and inputs from developers and investors have been incorporated into its design. The electricity rate achieved at Morena Solar Park will serve as a benchmark for future solar energy storage projects.
