Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that Madhya Pradesh is taking significant steps toward the development of wildlife tourism. The Chambal region and its neighboring areas are set to establish a distinct identity in tourism. The state has already made history by implementing Asia’s first cheetah reintroduction project, which has successfully led to the birth of a second generation of cheetahs. With the successful execution of the Gharial Project and the notification of Madhav National Park as the state’s 9th tiger reserve, this region will become a major attraction for tourists.

Speaking to media representatives at the Kushabhau Thakre Convention Center, CM Dr. Yadav confirmed that the notification for Madhav Tiger Reserve has been issued. Established in 1956, Madhav National Park’s designation as a tiger reserve will boost Madhya Pradesh’s wildlife tourism. Two female tigers and one male tiger were introduced here two years ago, and soon, two more tigers will be added, bringing the total count to seven including two cubs of tigress who were brought two years ago. Natural breeding will further increase the tiger population. Given its proximity to Shivpuri city, the reserve will be an ideal destination for tourists. With cheetahs in Kuno National Park and tigers in Madhav National Park, visitors will have the opportunity to witness two major wildlife species in one region. The park is also home to leopards, wolves, jackals, porcupines, pythons, and chinkaras.
