Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that a grand Sharda Lok dedicated to Maa Sharda Devi will be developed in Maihar, and a Vanvasi Bhagwan Shri Ram Lok will also be established in Chitrakoot. Speaking on the occasion of Ram Navami, he highlighted that while Ayodhya is illuminated with lights in celebration, Chitrakoot—associated with Lord Shri Ram’s exile—will also shine brightly with lakhs of lamps today. He stated that, honouring the sentiments of devotees, the state government has imposed a liquor ban in 19 religious areas, including Maihar. The Chief Minister said that the construction of the new Collectorate building in Maihar will begin soon. Additionally, this year, irrigation in the Maihar region will be enhanced by bringing water from the Bargi Dam via the Narmada River. He noted the significant strides in the irrigation sector, recalling that in 2003, only 7 lakh hectares had irrigation facilities, which has now increased to 55 lakh hectares. The target is to expand this to 1 crore hectares in the next five years through various projects. Furthermore, a large cowshed will be established on 250 acres of land in Maihar. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav shared these plans while addressing a public gathering following his visit to the Maa Sharda temple in Maihar on Ram Navami.
