New Delhi, May 29 (Reporter) L&T Switchgear, a leading name in India's electrical and automation sector on Wednesday unveiled its new identity as Lauritz Knudsen Electrical and Automation. With a legacy spanning over 70 years, the brand is set to redefine excellence and innovation in India's electrical landscape. Lauritz Knudsen, which was formerly L&T Switchgear, will continue to enhance its core low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) business while expanding into new energy domains such as renewable power generation and e-mobility solutions. This transition follows the 2020 acquisition of L&T Switchgear by Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation. At the brand launch, Peter Herweck, CEO of Schneider Electric, emphasised Lauritz Knudsen's commitment to innovation and global competitiveness. "Lauritz Knudsen's vision prioritises innovation and excellence, aligning closely with India's growth story. We aim to invest approximately INR 850 crores over the next three years to solidify our position in India's electrical sector." Deepak Sharma, Zone President, Greater India, MD & CEO of Schneider Electric India, highlighted the strategic 'Two Brands, Two Sales' approach, combining Schneider Electric and Lauritz Knudsen to offer diverse choices to customers. "Our goal is to contribute significantly to India's transformative journey by listening, partnering, and innovating for a 'Viksit Bharat'," Sharma stated. Lauritz Knudsen's extensive manufacturing footprint includes 2.1 million square feet of advanced factories and a nationwide network of 33+ offices in over 500 cities. The company is dedicated to talent development, having trained over 400,000 professionals through its six training centres across the country. Lauritz Knudsen's solutions power major infrastructure projects in India, including power plants, refineries, water management systems, airports, metro stations, offices, stadiums, universities, and hospitals.
