LS polls: BJP turning blind eye towards concerns of J&K people: Solanki

Jammu, April 23 (Reporter) Former Union Minister and In-charge J&K Congress affairs, Bharat Singh Solanki on Tuesday said that the government is turning a blind eye towards the apprehensions and concerns of people of Jammu and Kashmir especially Jammu region. Taking a dig at the Central government, Solanki claimed that people of J&K reeling under shortage of various basic requirements but the government is “unmoved.” He was speaking at a public meeting organised by the ex-MLA and Senior Vice President of Jammu and Kashmir Congress Thakur Balwan Singh in continuation of campaign in favour of Congress candidate from Jammu-Reasi Lok Sabha seat Raman Bhalla. Vikar Rasøol Wani, President J&K PCC was also present. Solanki added that the government lacks an approach which is based on consistency, clarity, conviction and creating only chaos, making people suffer unnecessarily without any fault of theirs. He said that the BJP regime has antagonized all sections of people whether it is the youth, government employees, women or even children, this government has hurt every section of the society. Expressing anguish over “mounting problems” of the common masses, he said that during the last ten years the union government has done nothing to solve basic problems of the people. Solanki said that there is “total chaos and confusion” among people as BJP leadership has failed to remove peoples’ apprehensions. “On the one hand, there is complete uncertainty in J&K, while on the other hand people are confronting the failure of the administration to solve today's problems,” he said, adding that various parts of J&K are facing scarcity of basic amenities. Speaking on the occasion, JKPCC President Vikar Rasool Wani said that BJP should take the responsibility for the present situation in J&K as people of J&K . “We definitely want a government of the people representing J&K," he said. We are extremely concerned and pained by the developments in Jammu and Kashmir. "We cautioned the BJP government to correct its flawed approach and work for rebuilding the trust and restoration of normalcy in J&K but it never paid any heed to public issues," he said.
