London, Sept 8 (Reporter) Eight people were detained during a multi-thousand-strong protest against the military action in the Gaza Strip, London's Metropolitan Police said.
Thousands of anti-Gaza campaigners took to the streets of London on Saturday, starting at Piccadilly Circus, the Daily Mail reported. The march was briefly halted when at least two counter-protesters, including one holding a banner condemning Palestinian movement Hamas, blocked its movement.
"A total of eight arrests were made during today's event. Six were of people participating in the pro-Palestine march," the capital's police said on X. "Two arrests relate to counter-protestors who were arrested on suspicion of breach of the peace and assaulting police officers...////...
