Ambala, Oct 1 (Reporter) Former Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij, who is contesting the assembly election from Ambala Cantonment, took a swipe at Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday claiming that even Congress star campaigners like him are failing to have an impact on voters.
"There was a lot of noise that Rahul Gandhi would come with a storm, he came and went and not a single leaf was shaken," said Vij, claiming that even Gandhi's rallies were not attracting voters towards the Congress.
Vij said Haryana voters had decided to bring back the BJP for a straight third term. "I have never seen such enthusiasm among people before, which is very good," he said.
In response to a question about parole granted to jailed murder convict Baba Ram Rahim ahead of voting on October 5, Vij said, "There are rules regarding parole, and it would have been granted according to those rules."
He added that if the Opposition parties have any questions about this, they should seek a change in rules.
The results of the election to pick a new 90-member Haryana Legislative Assembly will be declared on October 8...////...
