Lucknow, Jan 21 (Reporter) Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday alleged that the law and order of Uttar Pradesh is in shambles under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government.
In a statement issued here, Akhilesh said that incidents of murder and robbery are increasing continuously. "Criminals are committing murders in broad daylight and do not fear the police. Instead of taking action against criminals, the police are killing innocent people by torturing them. People are not safe under the BJP government," HE CLAIMED.
He said that SP leader Ishrat Ali was shot dead by miscreants in broad daylight in Amroha on Monday. "A retired ADM Rajendra Prasad Kashyap was killed in Kasganj. In Ghaziabad, miscreants looted a bag full of money. Hundreds of crime incidents are happening every day in the entire state. The government has no control over law and order and the police have no control over crime," he alleged.
The SP chief said that the public has lost faith in the police under the BJP government. "In this government, the police are looting instead of helping. In Kanpur, when a call was made to dial 112 for help, the policemen who arrived beat up the victim and snatched the money," he said.
He said, "Similarly, the series of custodial deaths is not stopping under the BJP government. In the BJP government, the police have become a predator instead of a protector. In Sambhal, a youth who was taken from his home in the name of interrogation died in custody. Public outrage erupted after the death of the youth."
Akhilesh said that injustice and oppression are at their peak under the BJP government. "This government has made UP number one in the case of custodial deaths. The BJP government that commits injustice is now in its last phase. The public is seeing the injustice and oppression of the BJP. In the 2027 assembly elections, the public will remove the BJP from power and form the SP government. The rule of justice and law will be established," he said...////...
