Large quantity of seized contraband destroyed in south Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 18 (Reporter) J&K Police on Saturday destroyed a large quantity of seized contraband in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Police said the action was carried out in strict adherence to Section 52A of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Anantnag Police, under the supervision of a specially constituted committee, destroyed a substantial quantity of seized contraband substances in compliance with the directions of the Sessions Court. The destruction process took place at Kashmir Health Care System, Lassipora, Pulwama, and was conducted with full compliance with legal protocols and environmental safety standards. The committee overseeing the operation included senior officials such as SSP Anantnag, DySP ANTF, DySP CI, DySP Headquarters Anantnag, and DySP DAR Anantnag. The contraband substances destroyed were seized from Police Stations Pahalgam, Aishmuqam, Srigufwara, Mattan, Larnoo, and Kokernag, police said. The destroyed items included 155.37 Kg of poppy straw/fukki, 99.022 Kgs of charas powder or Bung Boosa, 64 bottles of codeine phosphate, 889 bottles of liquor, and 140 tablets of Trimodal...////...
