Lalu elected unopposed RJD national president for 13th time

Patna, June 24 (Reporter) Veteran leader Lalu Prasad Yadav was today elected unopposed as national president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for the 13th time as he was the lone candidate to have filed nomination for the top post of the party. RJD national returning officer Ramchandra Purvey told news persons here that a notification to this effect was issued after expiry of the deadline of 15 hours for withdrawal of the candidature. He said the certificate for the election to the post would be handed over to Yadav during the RJD National Council meeting on July 5 here. Yadav had filed his nomination papers before Purvey and assistant returning officer Chitranjan Gagan. Former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, leader of the opposition Tejaswi Prasad Yadav, former Bihar Ministers Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Shivanand Tiwari and others had signed as proposers in nomination papers...////...
