Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that his current position is a result of the divine blessings of Baba Mahakal and the Ladli Behnas of Madhya Pradesh. The rapid development of the state is attributed to divine force and support.
Their support is the driving force behind the state's rapid development. Festivals in Sanatan culture, he emphasised, strengthen familial bonds and connect society.
CM Dr. Yadav remarked, addressing a Raksha Bandhan event at Raghunandan Garden in Ujjain on Sunday. He said that sisters bring joys to families. He said, “The Raksha-Sutra is not merely a thread — it is a solemn vow to protect, support and fulfil the dreams of our sisters”. He said that Draupadi tied a rakhi to Lord Krishna, and he, in turn, upheld dignity by protecting her at every moment. Similarly, Maa Parvati, the Shakti of Lord Shiva, takes the form of Maa Kalika to eliminate suffering. He said, “Our Ladli Behnas are a source of strength for the state and society”.
The Chief Minister emphasised that a family’s, society’s and state’s prosperity depends on sisters, aunts, and daughters. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Operation Sindoor”, he said it conveyed a strong message to the world that India is committed to protecting the dignity of its women. Under his leadership, several initiatives like Lakhpati Didi and Drone Didi are being implemented to empower women. CM Dr. Yadav said, “Only in India festivals are so deeply interwoven with relationships and collective cultural values”. CM Dr. Yadav said that the monthly amount of Rs. 1,250 provided to Ladli Behnas will be increased to Rs. 1,500 from Bhai Dooj onwards. The government is also extending full support to help women take up self-employment. Additionally, every woman employed in factories will receive Rs. 5,000 per year for ten years from the state government.
