Johannesburg, Dec 12 (Reporter) South Africa have named a formidable 15-player squad for their upcoming ODI series against Pakistan, with the inclusion of young sensation Kwena Maphaka being one of the standout features. The 18-year-old, who has already represented South Africa in T20Is, has earned his first call-up to the senior ODI team following an impressive year. Maphaka, who was named Player of the Tournament at the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup, claimed 21 wickets at a remarkable average of 9.71, showcasing his immense potential. In addition to Maphaka’s exciting inclusion, the squad sees the return of key players, including Kagiso Rabada, who makes his first appearance in the South African ODI setup since the 2023 Cricket World Cup. David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen also return to the fold for the first time since December 2023. The pace attack also features Ottneil Baartman, while all-rounders Marco Jansen and Andile Phehlukwayo add further depth to the squad.
