Hyderabad, Feb 4 (Reporter) BRS Working President and MLA K T Rama Rao (KTR) criticised the Congress government, stating that the people of Telangana have lost faith in its administration.
Speaking during the debate on the caste survey report in the Telangana Legislative Assembly, KTR expressed disappointment, saying that many had expected historic announcements following the special Assembly session and Cabinet meeting.
However, he claimed that the report lacked new insights and merely reiterated information previously shared by Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy.
Referring to the Kamareddy declaration, KTR said BC communities had anticipated its implementation, but the Congress government failed to take any concrete steps.
He also recalled how Revanth Reddy had earlier questioned the validity of the comprehensive family survey conducted by the previous BRS government, despite it being executed with official authorization and transparency.
KTR raised concerns over discrepancies in BC population figures, stating that according to the previous comprehensive family survey, Hindu BCs made up 51 per cent of the population, while Muslim BCs accounted for 10 per cent, totalling 61 per cent . However, he questioned how the current survey reflected a decline in BC population to 47 per cent, amounting to a drop of 21 lakh people in a decade.
"How has the BC population decreased in the last ten years? We are raising this question in the Assembly, and even Congress MLCs and leaders are calling for this survey to be scrapped," KTR stated.
He further criticized the Congress for failing to bring a bill for 42 per cent BC reservations in local bodies or restore BC quota in proportion to their 61 per cent population share. Instead, he accused the government of presenting old data in the Assembly without any meaningful new measures.
"The people of Telangana have lost faith in this Congress government," KTR added...////...
