New Delhi, Feb 27 (Reporter) Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi held a meeting with Assam state Congress leaders here on Thursday to review the preparation for the assembly elections in the state and also discussed various issues. Taking to his social media handle X, Kharge said, "We chaired an important meeting of @INCAssam leaders at Indira Bhawan, New Delhi, today." "In a year, the people of Assam shall discard the politics of corruption, division, and vendetta," he said. Kharge said, "3.5 crore people of Assam look towards the Congress to usher in this change. No amount of select-media-driven propaganda can shake their resolve for transformation." Later, talking to the media after the meeting, Assam Congress chief Bhupen Kumar Borah said that the party has resolved to remove the BJP completely from the state. He said that in this meeting, all the leaders from Assam got a chance to express their views, for which we thank the top leadership of the party. Calling Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma the "most corrupt chief minister of the country," he said that the state unit has placed all the evidence related to the corruption of the chief minister before the top leadership.
