New Delhi, Jan 15 (Reporter) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday lauded the efforts of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in bringing an attitudinal change in the nation's youth through its untiring efforts and dedication.
Addressing the NCC cadets, Kejriwal said, “NCC has played a pivotal role in moulding the youth of the nation into energetic, enterprising and responsible citizens. It extends a great opportunity to imbibe qualities of discipline, spirit of adventure and service to the nation.
He praised the cadets for their immaculate turnout and excellent drill movements, saying “I am highly impressed by your impeccable turnout, crisp movements and high standards of parade. The training in NCC is aimed at the all-round development of cadets in sync with the challenges of current times."
"Adventure and sports activities form an inseparable part of NCC training. NCC teams have been taking part in various sports tournaments like Jawahar Lal Nehru hockey tournament, Subroto Cup, All India Yachting Regatta and All India GV Mavalankar shooting championship, he added.
“NCC also extends an opportunity to the selected cadets for foreign exposure through youth exchange programmes with various countries. These interactions not only provide the chance to learn from the culture and traditions of host countries, but they also give an opportunity to be an ambassador of Bharat, showcasing our rich cultural heritage and unique value system,” Kejriwal said.
He further lauded NCC cadets for their contribution to spreading awareness about various social issues like nasha mukti, save earth, swachh bharat, save girl child, save environment, anti-dowry etc.
Kejriwal visited the DG NCC Republic Day Parade Camp at Delhi Cantonment here.
Expressing confidence in the candidates who have successfully navigated a challenging selection process, Kejriwal said, “With your zeal and enthusiasm, you will become a role model for your fellow citizens and take the nation to great heights.”
He expressed happiness over NCC's plans to expand and enhance its reach to coastal areas, border regions and leftwing extremist areas with an aim to transport the youth of the remote areas.
"I am sure that NCC with its training philosophy and pedagogy will be able to energise these youth and turn them into good citizens of the country who will contribute positively towards nation building,” he added.
He further congratulated the cadets, who have been selected for the coveted and elite camp and trainers for their selfless service to the society...////...
