Srinagar, Apr 2 (Reporter) The Railway Police on Wednesday apprehended an 18-year-old youth for performing a dangerous stunt atop a moving train in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
The incident, which posed a serious threat to the individual’s life and public safety, came to light following timely information received by the Railway Police.
The Railway Police wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police intercepted Arafat Ashiq Mir, a resident of Booch Hamrey of Baramulla district at Mazhama railway station in central Kashmir's Budgam district, preventing a potential disaster.
“Legal proceedings have been initiated against him for endangering his own safety and the safety of others,” officials said.
Following the incident, the Railway Police issued a stern advisory, urging the public, particularly the youth, to refrain from engaging in such reckless and life-threatening activities.
A spokesperson for the Railway Police stated, “Such stunts not only jeopardize human lives but also disrupt public safety. Strict action under the law will be enforced against violators to deter such behavior in the future...////...
