Srinagar, Jan 4 (Reporter) Kashmir is bracing for a third spell of snowfall, even as foggy weather conditions affected the morning flights at Srinagar International Airport on Saturday.
Officials at the Srinagar Airport said that due to poor visibility, all airlines rescheduled their morning operations after 10 am.
On Friday some flights were also delayed at the airport due to the poor visibility.
The Meteorological Department’s Srinagar office said there is a possibility of moderate to heavy snow at isolated higher reaches during Saturday night till Monday morning.
As per the forecast, the Kashmir region is expected to witness snowfall on the night of January 4.
“The peak activity is likely from the night of the 4th to the late night of the 5th or early morning of the 6th, with improvement expected by the afternoon of January 6,” MeT in Srinagar said.
Owing to the forecast of snowfall, the administration in several districts of Kashmir has issued advisories for the public asking them to follow safety guidelines and avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather conditions.
The weather is expected to be generally cloudy and dry from January 7-10.
MeT said from January 11-12, light snow is expected at isolated to scattered places.
Kashmir witnessed the first spell of snow on December 27 and the second spell on January 2.
