Chikkamagaluru, Sep 16 (Reporter) Karnataka Police on Monday said that six minors were detained following the appearance of a video on social media, showing them allegedly riding two-wheelers and waving a Palestinian flag.
The incident occurred on Sunday around 1 p.m. on Dantaramakki Road in Chikkamagaluru. According to police, three of the boys were on one two-wheeler, with a 17-year-old pillion rider waving the Palestinian flag. Three other boys followed them on a separate bike, while all the riders shouted slogans calling for a "free Palestine."
A senior police officer confirmed that all six boys involved have been detained. The police have filed a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including those related to disturbing communal harmony. Both vehicles and the flag have been seized.
During interrogation, the boys revealed that they had seen videos of a similar procession in Uttar Pradesh featuring Palestinian flags and decided to recreate a similar Instagram reel.
Former BJP National General Secretary and MLC CT Ravi claimed that an unauthorised rally involving over 20 two-wheelers and one four-wheeler displaying the Palestinian flag took place.
Ravi alleged that influential figures attempted to sway the situation in favour of the participants. He also alleged that more than 200 people gathered outside the police station, leading to the suspects' release after an explanation was sought.
The BJP leader has called for a thorough investigation and the dismantling of the network behind the incident, emphasising that it should not be taken lightly...////...
