Bengaluru, June 4 (Reporter) In the wake of Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) long-awaited maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title win, the Karnataka government is making elaborate preparations to felicitate the victorious team in the state capital, though there is no official word yet on whether a public victory parade will be held. Meanwhile, the RCB management has independently announced a celebratory victory parade, which will take place from 4 PM to 6 PM on Tuesday. The parade will commence from the steps of the Vidhana Soudha and proceed to the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, offering fans an opportunity to cheer their champions through the heart of the city. Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara extended his congratulations to the franchise and especially to star batsman Virat Kohli, praising his 18-year loyalty to the team. “On behalf of myself and the Government of Karnataka, I congratulate RCB on this remarkable achievement. Kohli’s patience and commitment to the team for nearly two decades is an example for all. His loyalty has finally paid off, and this win is a message of hope to every sportsperson — that sincerity and dedication will be rewarded,” Dr Parameshwara told reporters. The minister confirmed that the state government will host an official felicitation ceremony for the RCB team later today. While the exact venue is yet to be finalised, authorities are considering either the iconic grand steps of the Vidhana Soudha or the KSCA Stadium. A final decision will be taken soon, keeping in view the expected turnout of thousands of jubilant fans and the city’s traffic situation. "The team is expected to arrive in Bengaluru today. We are planning to hold the felicitation around 4 PM. Considering the massive support RCB enjoys, traffic arrangements will also be a part of the planning. But I believe even the traffic will be celebrated today,” Dr Parameshwara quipped. He also reflected on the cultural significance of Kohli’s association with Bengaluru. “Kohli has an emotional bond with this city. His statement about being part of Bengaluru's culture resonates deeply with Kannadigas,” he said. However, the minister did not comment on the possibility of a public victory parade or respond to questions about any such celebration in the city. The IPL title marks the end of an 18-year wait for RCB fans, and the city has erupted in celebrations since the final win over Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. As for further honours or awards, the Home Minister said a decision will be taken after consultations with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah...////...
