Srinagar, Oct 17 (Reporter) Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday has taken cognizance of an incident that occurred in the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Complex (SKICC) here when National Conference Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) elect allegedly didn't stand up during the playing of the National Anthem. The incident happened at the SKICC when National Conference leader and MLA elect from Sonawari, Hilal Akbar Lone allegedly didn't stand up during the playing of the National Anthem at the swearing-in-ceremony of Omar Abdullah as the new Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. However Lone clarified through social media that “he had no intention to insult the national anthem during chief minister Omar Abdullah’s oath-taking ceremony and instead he sat down due to back pain”. Police in a post on X said that “Police has taken cognizance of an incident where an individual did not stand up during the playing of the National Anthem. A preliminary Enquiry by an SP rank officer under section 173 (3) of the BNSS has been initiated, and electronic evidence is being analysed for further course of legal action”...////...
