Srinagar, Sep 5 (Reporter) Police on Thursday said that a possible terror attack was averted with the arrest of a militant associate in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. The terrorist associate identified as Arsalan Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Karimabad was arrested by a police team at a checkpoint. Police said during the search, a hand grenade was recovered from his possession. “Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had planned to lob the grenade at the Naka party, posing a serious threat to security forces and public safety. The timely action by the Police thwarted the attack, preventing any potential loss of life or injury,” a police statement said.
