J&K Police arrest two drug peddlers with Charas in Shopian district

Srinagar, Mar 3 (Reporter) Police have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered charas from their possession in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district. Police said in continuation of its drive to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, District Police Shopian arrested two drug peddlers during checking at Nagesharan crossing. They said a motorcycle, which was coming from Harmain towards Shopian, was stopped for checking, and upon thorough search, a contraband substance like charas powder was recovered from the first-aid toolkit of the motorcycle. The pillion riders were identified as Mohammad Lateef Malik, a resident of Bongam, Shopian, and Tauseef Mushtaq of New Colony, Largam. A case, FIR No. 34/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, has been registered at Police Station Shopian. Further investigation is underway to unearth the forward and backward linkages of the arrested individuals. “We urge all the citizens to join hands with the police in our anti-narcotics drive.
