Jammu, June 27 (Reporter) Police today sealed a medical shop for illegal sale of drugs in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police said that continuing its crackdown on the illegal sale of controlled substances, in coordination with the Assistant Controller Drugs Udhampur, one shop named 'Ankush Medical Hall' was sealed in Garhi, Udhampur, for failing to maintain proper records and selling drugs without valid prescriptions as mandated by law.
During the inspection, the team recovered and seized 26 strips of pregabalin capsules found in the possession of the proprietor, namely Ankush Sharma of Garhi, without any corresponding sales or purchase records or valid medical prescriptions.
Notably, Udhampur Police has sealed a total of six medical shops for non-compliance with drug control norms since January 2025.
District Police Udhampur has issued a stern warning to all medical establishments to strictly adhere to the regulations concerning the sale of controlled drugs.
