Srinagar, Mar 29 (Reporter) In a significant move to strengthen security measures and ensure vigilant monitoring on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, police have deployed advanced surveillance technology, including wall radar and thermal screening systems, at the Navyug tunnel in Kulgam district.
Police said the newly installed systems are designed to monitor and detect concealed contrabands, illegal weapons, and other illicit materials within vehicles, reinforcing efforts to prevent smuggling and detect potential threats along the National Highway in real time.
A police spokesman said that senior officers including the Deputy Inspector General of Police south Kashmir Range Javid Iqbal Mantoo, Commander of Army’s 1 Sector RR, DIG CRPF and the SSP Kulgam Sahil Sarangal inspected the newly installed surveillance system and expressed satisfaction with the technology, emphasizing its importance in strengthening security measures.
