Srinagar, Dec 19 (Reporter) An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thursday, officials said. They said the encounter erupted when joint forces launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) in the Kadder area following an input about militant presence. “The CASO turned into an encounter when hiding terrorists opened fire,” officials said, adding that the operation is underway.
