Jammu, May 22 (Reporter) One army soldier was martyred in an ensuing gunfight in Chatroo area of Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu-based White Knight Corps in a post on X said, "During the ongoing operation, fierce gunfight is continuing. One of our Bravehearts sustained grievous injuries in the exchange of fire and has succumbed despite the best medical efforts." Operation is in progress; it has been further posted. Official sources earlier said that a gunfight broke out between terrorists, believed to be 3 to 4 in number, and a joint team of police and army in the Singhpura area of Chatroo. Contact was established with terrorists during a joint operation with J&K Police at Chhatru, in Kishtwar, in the morning, they said.
