Guwahati, Nov 23 (Reporter) Describing the BJP-led NDA's defeat in the Jharkhand Assembly polls as "deeply painful" for him personally, the saffron outfit's campaign co-in charge in the state Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said he was 'humbly" accepting the people's mandate.
"The loss in Jharkhand is deeply painful for me personally,... I have witnessed the unwavering dedication and relentless efforts of our Karyakartas in Jharkhand, who gave their all in this election," Sarma, also the Assam CM, said on his X handle while also congratulating JMM leader and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on the Indi alliance's win.
He said The BJP had fought the Jharkhand election with a vision to protect the state from infiltration and to lead it on the path of development, fulfilling the aspirations of students and youth.
"However, we must humbly accept the mandate of the people, for that is the true essence of democracy. In these challenging times, we will stand firmly with our Karyakartas, offering them unwavering support and solidarity," the Assam CM said.
Accepting that JMM and its allies have secured an impressive victory in Jharkhand, he congratulated Soren and his entire team and exuded confidence that under his leadership, Jharkhand will embark on a path of progress and development.
As the Jharkhand co-in charge of his party, Biswa sarma had campaigned aggressively on the infiltration issue and addressed a large number of rallies.
He had gone to the extent of calling Jharkhand his "second home"...////...
