Ranchi, May 20 (Reporter) A total of 26.18 per cent of 58.34 lakh voters exercised their franchise in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections in Jharkhand, Chatra, Hazaribagh and Koderma till 11 am here on Monday.
According to the state election office, Koderma saw a turnout of 26.95 percent, Chatra 26.01 percent, and Hazaribagh 25.45 percent.
In addition, the Gandey Assembly by-election recorded a 24.02 percent turnout by 11 a.m.
The total number of voters in these three constituencies stands at 5,834,618, with 2,999,233 male and 2,835,329 female voters. There are 6,705 polling booths, 575 of which are in urban areas and 6,130 in rural areas. Among these, 73 booths are managed by women, 13 by differently-abled individuals, and 13 by youth.
Additionally, 36 unique booths have been set up to reflect the identity of these regions. There are 22 candidates contesting in Chatra, 15 in Koderma, and 17 in Hazaribagh.
