Dehradun, July 9 (Reporter) Five soldiers from Uttarakhand were martyred in a terrorist attack in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday led residents of the state in paying homage to the bravehearts.
Dhami expressed his condolences, praying for the souls of the martyrs.
The soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice are Rifleman Adarsh Negi from Thati Dagar in Kirtinagar Block, Naib Subedar Anand Singh from Rudraprayag, Havildar Kamal Singh from Lansdowne, Naik Vinod Singh from Tehri Garhwal, and Rifleman Anuj Negi from Rikhanikhal.
The news of their martyrdom has left their families devastated and grief has engulfed their villages.
The terrorist attack occurred in the Barnood area near Janda Nala in Bhadnota, Billawar sub-district of Kathua.
Terrorists ambushed an Army vehicle, resulting in the deaths of five soldiers and leaving five others severely injured.
Despite a high alert and intelligence inputs, this is the most significant terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir in the past month...////...
