Israeli strike on IRIB News HQ: Iran calls attack a brutal crime

Tel Aviv/Tehran, June 17 (Reporter) Israel, intensifying its attacks against Iran, launched an attack on Iranian state media IRIB News headquarters in Tehran. Prior to the attack, the IDF had issued an evacuation warning to residents within the area, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also asking residents to leave Tehran and calling for a regime change. Iran Foreign Ministry called Tel Aviv’s attacks against IRIB a crime, asking the UN Security Council to stop Israeli "aggression," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said on Monday. "The attack on the state television and radio company is another brutal crime (made by Israel) ... The UN Security Council must fulfill its obligations to stop the aggression ... of the Israeli regime against the people of Iran," Baghaei said on X. Prior to the attack, Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz had said “The Iranian propaganda and incitement mouthpiece is on its way to disappear,” reports Times of Israel. Iran kept up its salvos of missile fire on Israel which have killed at least 24 people since the start of the conflict, while US President Donald Trump called for an exodus from Tehran. "Iran should have signed the 'deal' I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again!"
