Doha, Feb 3 (Reporter) Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani on Saturday declared three days of morning in all government ministries and institutions to honor those killed in the US airstrikes on western Iraq, the Iraqi government said.
"Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani has announced a three-day period of general mourning across all state departments and institutions. This is in honor of the souls of the martyrs from our armed forces and the civilians who lost their lives due to the American bombing in Akashat and Al-Qa'im, west of Anbar Governorate," the Iraqi government said on social media.
On Saturday night, the United States said it had hit over 85 targets linked to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and its affiliated forces in Iraq and Syria in response to the recent attack on a US military base in Jordan. At least 16 people were killed and 25 others injured in the US strikes against Iraqi territory alone, the Iraqi government said. Following the strikes, the Iraqi parliament's Security and Defense Committee called on the country's authorities to quickly sign an agreement on the withdrawal of the international coalition troops from the country...////...
