New Delhi, Dec 27 (Reporter) Indian Industry on Friday mourned the passing of Dr Manmohan Singh, former Indian Prime Minister, recognizing his pivotal role in India's economic reform during his tenure as Finance Minister of the country and his commitment to inclusive growth. Industry body FICCI said “FICCI mourns the loss of former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, a brilliant economist and statesman. Dr Singh, who was the architect of India’s economic liberalisation and the father of economic reforms, played a pivotal role in shaping the country's economic destiny.” Under his leadership as Finance Minister and later as Prime Minister, India witnessed unprecedented economic growth and emerged as a global economic powerhouse. His visionary policies and unwavering commitment to inclusive growth have left an indelible mark on India's economic landscape, the industry body said. In his condolence message, Mr. N Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons, said “We mourn the passing away of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, one of the stalwarts who envisioned a new, liberalised India that is taking its rightful place in the world. Dr. Singh will always be remembered for his visionary thinking and deep insights while always being humble and upholding his personal values. His inspiring leadership earned him respect across the world.” Sajjan Jindal, Chairman, JSW Group, said “Deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Manmohan Singh ji, former Prime Minister of India and the visionary leader behind India’s economic liberalization. A statesman of humility and wisdom-India owes him a debt of gratitude.” FICCI further said, it extends its deepest condolences to Dr Singh's family, friends, and countless admirers across the globe. The nation has lost a true statesman, and his legacy will forever guide India's economic journey. In his message, industrialist Anil D. Ambani said “Dr. Manmohan Singh’s life was a testament to humility, wisdom, and service to India.
