Dhaka/New Delhi, July 19 (Reporter) In view of the violent anti-quota protests across Bangladesh, India has asked its nationals to avoid local travel and minimize their movement outside their residences. The advisory, issued by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka, has asked Indians to reach out to the High Commissioner or Assistant High Commissioner in case of any need. The MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal in a post on X asked Indians in Bangladesh to follow the advisory. “Indian nationals in Bangladesh are requested to follow the advisory issued by the High Commission of India in Dhaka. The High Commission and Assistant High Commissions remain available on helpline numbers for any assistance required by Indian nationals.” In the anti-quota violence spreading across Bangladesh at least 17 people have been reportedly killed, and several others injured in clashes between police and protesters.
