After the walkout, the Opposition MPs gathered at the Makar Dwar and shouted slogans against the government and the Budget.
Earlier, during the discussion on Budget, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said, “We condemn the Budget. It has no balance… no development.”

Kharge said, "This budget is just to satisfy their allies. They have given nothing to anyone."
Slamming the government, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav stated that the government failed to take any concrete steps to reduce inflation.
"The government could not take any concrete steps regarding inflation. Uttar Pradesh did not get anything. UP should have got double benefit from the double-engine government. I think the people in Lucknow have angered the people in Delhi. Its result is visible in the Budget" he added.
All socialists want minimum support price (MSP) for crops and doubling of farmers’ income, he said.
Opposition MPs including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, KC Venugopal, Akhilesh Yadav, Arvind Sawant, Kalyan Banerjee, Sanjay Singh, among others, joined the protests outside the House.
The leaders held placards which read ”NDA betrays INDIA in Budget”, 'We want India budget, not NDA budget' and “Stop attacks on fiscal federalism”.
