Jammu, Aug 30 (Reporter) Former minister and senior leader of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Ajay Kumar Sadhotra on Friday said that Sadhotra emphasized that the INDIA Alliance is the solution to the problems plaguing Jammu North, promising that, if voted to power, the alliance would prioritise resolving the issues faced by the public.
Kick-starting a poll campaign in the Jammu North Assembly segment as a candidate for the National Conference in an upcoming Assembly Elections, the former minister launched a scathing attack on the BJP government for its failure to provide basic amenities to the people of Jammu North.
He criticised the BJP-led government's ten-year tenure in the country, particularly pointing out that the residents of Jammu North have been left stranded due to persistent shortages of drinking water and irregular power supply.
“Despite the installation of smart meters, the government has miserably failed to ensure a regular power supply. To make matters worse, people are being burdened with inflated electricity bills,” he said.
Sadhotra questioned the BJP leadership, asking them to explain why the general public are still deprived of basic amenities such as regular water and electricity supply, and non-availability of Govt ration.
He called for the BJP to clarify why their governance has left the people of Jammu North struggling for basic necessities.
“Our focus will be on the basic amenities—consistent water supply, electricity, and other fundamental needs that have been neglected for too long,” he stated. He said that the smart city project has completely failed in Jammu city and no new developmental projects were started and the public exchequer is wasted for unproductive projects.
The programme was organised by Ranjit Singh, Vice President JKNC Jammu District, and chaired by Raghbir Singh Manhas, District President Jammu Rural-A JKNC.
Speaking on the occasion, Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of JKNC, asserted that the BJP has completely failed to address the real concerns of the people.
He reiterated the National Conference's commitment to improving the quality of life for residents by offering concrete solutions, including 200 units of free electricity, Provide one lakh government jobs to Youth of J&K, Provide Rs 5000 per month to female heads of households of EWS, Provide 12 cylinders free of cost per year to EWS, increase free rice/ Atta allocation from 5 Kg to 10 Kg per person per month and a regular supply of drinking water free of cost.
Gupta appealed to the public to vote and support Ajay Sadhotra, INDIA Alliance candidate, to bring about the much-needed change in Jammu North.
“It is time to vote for progress and better governance,” he concluded...////...
