Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav named the newly constructed bridge over Rudrasagar in the Shri Mahakal Mahalok premises as "Samrat Ashok Setu" in honor of Emperor Ashoka, who historically elevated Sanatan culture and Ujjaini on the global stage. He said that Avantika, under the divine protection of Lord Shri Mahakal, has remained eternal. Here, salvation is attained directly through penance. He highlighted that Avantika has long been a sanctuary for great emperors like King Vikramaditya, King Bhrithari, and Emperor Ashoka, who upheld the legacy of Bharatvarsh and Sanatan culture. He also remarked that the grand fireworks display during the inauguration mesmerized devotees and onlookers alike. The golden peak of Lord Shri Mahakal, shining in the fireworks, reflected the poetic descriptions of the great poet Kalidas. He expressed optimism that, with new industrial developments, Ujjain and the entire state will similarly shine in the future.
