Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that imposing the Emergency was the murder of the Constitution by the then Prime Minister. Neither the Central Cabinet approved the imposition of Emergency, nor was there any proposal from the states for it. The responsible people themselves did not follow the Constitution. Freedom of expression and press was curbed. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav asked questions to the youth regarding the imposition of the Emergency and gave them an opportunity to express their views on the features of the present times.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said this while interacting with the youth at the Youth Parliament program organized on Friday at the Municipal Corporation Bhopal's meeting hall located at Kushabhau Thakre Inter State Bus Terminal.
Senior MP Shri V.D. Sharma also addressed the Youth Parliament. He said that it is necessary to inform today's generation about the episode of the Emergency. Many youths expressed their views on the evils of the Emergency and described its imposition as an anti-democratic step.
It is noteworthy that the Government of India has instructed that from Constitution Murder Day, 25 June 2025, various activities will be organized continuously for one year. Under this, in Madhya Pradesh, along with honoring democracy fighters, various competitions and intellectual seminars are being continuously organized by different institutions.
Senior democracy fighter Shri Vibhishan Singh was honoured by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. At the beginning of the programme, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was welcomed. On behalf of the organizing institution, State Office Bearer Shri Vaibhav Pawar and National Office Bearer Shri Rohit Chahal welcomed the guests and expressed their views in the Youth Parliament. On this occasion, Bhopal Mayor Mrs. Malti Rai, Bhopal Municipal Corporation President Shri Kishan Suryavanshi, and many public representatives were present.
