Shimla, May 15 (Reporter) Sweltering heatwaves may provide some relief in the next 48 hours, as IMD predicted the possibility of rain and thunderstorms in Himachal Pradesh. The IMD issuing forecast valid for this week ended said an inclement weather prediction was made for the mid- and higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh. There is a possibility of a change in the weather due to the activity of the western disturbance. According to the Meteorological Center Shimla, the weather is expected to remain clear in the plains and low altitude areas of the state until May 21. There is a possibility of rain or light snowfall in the higher reaches from May 17 to 21. There are also chances of thunderstorms in some places. Due to the pleasant weather in Shimla and other tourist resorts like Kufri, Narkanda, Manali, and Dalhousie, tourists are making bee lines. Tourists are making their way to the hill station to avoid scorching heat waves from the plains. The maximum temperature also climbed to 40 degrees at Neri in Hamirpur, followed by 39 in Una. The maximum temperature at ten stations remained above 35 degrees on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the minimum temperature in Shimla was 16 degrees.
