Shimla, Oct 27 (Reporter) Five people lost their lives in a tragic road accident near Lachkandi, near Barot in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district. The accident occurred when their vehicle skidded off the narrow road and plunged into a gorge. Local residents, along with district authorities, quickly reached the scene and carried out rescue operations. Despite their efforts, all five occupants of the vehicle succumbed to their injuries on the spot. The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, expressed profound grief over the tragic incident. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and assured them of his support during this time of sorrow. The state administration responded by providing immediate relief, with the district authorities releasing Rs 25,000 to the next of kin of each victim to support them in the initial aftermath. In his condolence message, Chief Minister Sukhu said, "My thoughts and prayers are with the families affected by this tragic mishap.
