Hamirpur (HP), Aug 16 (Reporter) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday distributed property right cards in Hamirpur district and said that the government is modifying the land revenue manual to help people.
Changes have been made in the Land Revenue Code - due to which 1.57 lakh mutations have been done in the last six months - so that people do not have to visit the revenue offices again and again, he said.
Sukhu distributed property cards to 10 eligible families each from 11 tehsils in Hamirpur.
In the first phase, property cards will be provided to more than 4,230 families of 190 villages. The main objective of this scheme is to provide ownership cards of the land to land occupants in inhabited areas.
He said that the marking was done with drones to implement this scheme on the ground. Under the campaign, drone marking work has been completed in 13,599 Aabadi deh villages out of 15,196 villages of the state.
Aabadi deh means the site recorded as such in the Record of Rights prepared and maintained under the Revenue Act, which is not assessed to land revenue.
Sukhu said Hamirpur has become the first district in the country where families in aabadi deh have been given ownership rights of the land...////...
