HP Assembly bypoll: Cong wins 2 & BJP one seat

Shimla, July 13 (Reporter) The Congress party on Saturday won two seats while BJP one seat in the by-election held for three Assembly Constituencies in Himachal Pradesh. The byelection in 3 Assembly Constituencies Dehra, Nalagarh and Hamirpur in the state was held on July 10 and the counting of votes was taken up this morning. A spokesperson of Election department said Dehra and Nalagarh Assembly Constituencies were bagged by the candidates from Indian National Congress (INC) while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate was declared winner from the Hamirpur Assembly Constituency. In Dehra AC Hoshyar Singh of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lost to Kamlesh Thakur of Indian National Congress (INC) by a margin of 9,399 votes. Hoshyar Singh secured 23,338 votes in comparison to INC candidate Kamlesh Thakur who bagged 32,737 votes. Independent candidates Sulekha Chaudhary got 171 votes while Arun Ankesh Syal got 67 votes followed by 43 votes to Advocate Sanjay Sharma while 150 voters preferred NOTA. In Hamirpur AC Ashish Sharma of BJP defeated his nearest rival of INC by 1571 votes. Ashish Sharma got 27,041 votes in comparison to his rival Dr. Pushpinder Verma of INC who got 25,470 votes in a tight finish. Independent candidate Nand Lal Sharma could only get 74 votes whereas 198 voters chose NOTA. In Nalagarh AC Hardeep Singh Bawa of INC got 34,608 votes while his nearest rival K.L. Thakur of BJP had to settle with 25,618 votes. Independent Candidate Harpreet Singh Saini secured 13,025 votes and finished third. Kishori Lal Sharma of Swabhiman Party got 492 votes whereas another Independent candidate Vijay Singh got 353 votes. 446 people (the highest amongst other two ACs) preferred NOTA...////...
