Sujanpur(HP), May 10(Reporter) Leader of the Opposition Jairam Thakur on Friday accused Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu of being “intoxicated with power” and “ignoring” the interests of the common Himachali.
“The result of his dictatorship is that today the Congress government has lost its majority in the state. To save the government in the budget session, 15 BJP MLAs had to be expelled,” Thakur said after the filing of the nomination paper of Bharatiya Janata Party's Sujanpur Assembly seat by-election candidate Rajinder Rana.
Thakur said Sukhu even treated the elected representatives of his party disrespectfully.
“The result of this is in front of all of you today. Six Congress MLAs lost their MLAship,” he said.
Thakur claimed the Congress government may do whatever it wants but now “it is a guest for a few days”.
“In the coming days, there will be a BJP government in the Centre and Himachal, which will speed up development, which instead of closing institutions, will open new institutions and strengthen the old institutions so that the sufferings of the people of Himachal are reduced,” said Thakur.
Holding Sukhu responsible for the by-election, he said despite being a Congress MLA then, whenever Rana went to the chief minister with proposals for the development and welfare of the people, his proposals were “thrown into the dustbin”...////...
