Himachal braces for fresh Western Disturbance

Shimla, Mar 20 (Reporter) The weather in Himachal Pradesh has been relatively calm over the past 24 hours, with no significant changes in temperatures. However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast for a fresh Western disturbance to affect the Western Himalayan Region on March 22. There was no large change in minimum and maximum temperatures. Average minimum temperatures were normal, and average maximum temperatures were above normal. The lowest minimum temperature is Keylong at minus 4.6 °C, and the highest maximum temperature is Una at 30.4°C. Isolated rainfall occurred at a few stations, with Sundernagar receiving the highest amount of rainfall at 9.5 mm. Trace amounts of snowfall were reported in Kufri. Thunderstorm activity was reported in Shimla, Sundernagar, Bhunter, and Kangra. Hailstones were reported in Sundernagar. The forecast for the next seven days on March 21 is an isolated thunderstorm with lightning and hail likely at isolated places. Day 3 (March 22–24): Scattered thunderstorm with lightning and hail likely at an isolated place. A fresh western disturbance is expected to bring more showers and possibly thunderstorms to Himachal Pradesh starting on the night of March 23.
