Hezbollah, Lebanese PM condemn killing of Hamas leader

Beirut, July 31 (Reporter) Hezbollah on Wednesday offered its condolences for the death of Hamas Politburo Chief Ismail Haniyeh, while Lebanon's prime minister condemned the killing as a grave danger. A statement released by Hezbollah, a Lebanese militant group and political party, said that Haniyeh was "one of the great resistance leaders in our present era who stood with all courage in the face of the American hegemony project and the Zionist occupation." Hezbollah vowed that the "martyrdom" of Haniyeh will increase the determination of the resistance fighters in all resistance arenas. Meanwhile, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned the act during a cabinet meeting, saying: "We strongly condemn the assassination of ... Ismail Haniyeh, and see in this act a serious danger of expanding the scope of global concern and danger in the region."
