Haryana CM moves confidence motion in assembly

Chandigarh, Mar 13 (Reporter) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday moved a motion to seek a vote of confidence in the Legislative assembly. Vidhan Sabha Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta has fixed two hours for discussion on the proposal. Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) MLAs Devendra Singh Babli, Ram Kumar Gautam, Ishwar Singh, Ram Niwas, and Jogi Ram Sihag walked out of the House when the confidence motion was tabled, and discussion began. The JJP issued a whip on Wednesday, asking its 10 MLAs to remain absent from the House during the vote on the confidence motion. Former Home Minister of the State, Anil Vij, was present in the House. Before the Chief Minister moved the resolution, the Congress MLAs asked Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta questions about convening the assembly session in a hurry. Senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that there was no emergency. Mr. Hooda requested that the Speaker adjourn the session for at least an hour so that the MLAs could reach the assembly. On this, the Speaker said that it is the duty of the members to reach the House on time. "Let the debate take place, and in the meantime, the members can reach the House," said the Speaker. Former Home Minister of the State, Anil Vij, was present in the House. In the state's 90-member assembly, the BJP has 41 members and the support of six of the seven independent MLAs, along with one Haryana Lokhit Party MLA, Gopal Kanda. JJP has 10 MLAs in the House. The main opposition Congress has 30 MLAs, while the Indian National Lok Dal has one MLA. After taking the oath on Tuesday evening, Saini said that he had submitted the letter of support for 48 MLAs to the Governor and requested that he convene the assembly session on Wednesday to prove the BJP government's majority in the House...////...
